ABSTRACT:
Antenatal care refers to the regular medical, nutritional, and counseling services provided during pregnancy to safeguard the health of the woman and the developing fetus, monitor their well-being, and prevent potential risks. The objective of this research study is to determine the utilization rate of antenatal care (ANC) services and to identify the problems faced by women during pregnancy. A descriptive research design was employed for this study, wherein 210 Muria women of reproductive age (15 to 49 years) were selected as respondents—using the purposive sampling method—from Muria-dominated villages across the Bijapur, Bhairamgarh, and Usur development blocks of Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district.Non-participant observation and interview schedules were used for primary data collection, while internet websites, published books, and research dissertations were utilized for secondary data collection. The study revealed that the utilization of antenatal care (ANC) services in the study area is at a satisfactory level; however, there is a need for improvement regarding the number of ANC visits, the complete consumption of iron-folic acid tablets, and the utilization of sonography examinations. Women face various health issues during pregnancy. Therefore, the availability of timely health check-ups, nutritional counseling, and quality maternal health services is essential for improving the health of pregnant women.
